Still messing around with retrograde mechanisms. Experimented with oscilations and color manipulation.

This clock is hard to read and the background made me sick… it’s an evil clock.

To draw the radioactive symbol properly I used the International Atomic Energy Agency guide as reference.

rev. 1

Initially this clock had 4 hands, which were hard to read and - simply put - too much. I just kept the seconds hand because it slowly rises forever giving this clock some sense of urgency. I also toned down the background oscilation and removed the center pointer. This clock is less evil now.

This clock is read left to right: Hours (top left), Minutes (bottom center), Seconds (top right).

I wanted to create a clock with a retrograde mechanism. I also integrated some digital features as well. THis is my first clock with an AM/PM display.

I wanted to create some sort of animation that would gradually change with the ticking of the seconds.

I wanted to create a clock without numbers or letters. I also wanted to create smooth movement for the minutes and hours hands.

This clock gets interesting when the current minute is a high number - see thumb. But it is not that interesting with low number minutes.

I used CSS colors, i.e. colors that can be accessed by their name in CSS. I like this pallete, but it is not that interesting as well.

So this clock has some interesting ideas showed in uninteresting fashion… I’ll do better on the next one.

A nice clock, digital and analog. The color pallete is a subset of riso-colors.
